The Strabon Tulum

I really enjoyed this place for the location, ambience, price, and friendly staff. The free breakfast included fruit plate along with your one choice of eggs/waffles/pancakes. These included toast and beans which was a great way to start the day. My caveats with this place were a few things, which didn't bother me as much as it bothered my partner. The biggest was the shower situation. The shower would fluctuate from hot water to cold constantly during the entirety of the shower. Second, this hotel is located on a dirt road which was not maintained well. We had a rental car and the potholes and massive puddles after raining were not fun. Lastly. The plumbing was not great. Our toilet would only flush about once an hour until I finally took a look at the mechanisms and was able to tweak it enough for better water flow. Overall it was a good place for the price. Was perfect walking distance to 7th street (a lively area for food, shops, and vendors), the staff were all super friendly and helpful, and the garden setting inside the hotel was a nice touch.

Nice little quiet hotel. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the small balcony. The complimentary breakfast is a definite plus, and the location is great—close to many restaurants and cafés. As a female solo traveller, I felt very safe throughout my stay. My only downside (purely personal) is that the pool gets no sun, and aside from the bean bags, there isn’t really anywhere to sit around the pool. Note that it’s also pretty far from the beach and any tour meeting point if that’s your vibe.

Nice little Hotel, very calm and clean, and friendly staff. Very Close to a street full of Restaurants, Shops and renting Businesses. Quite far though from the beaches If you dont Rent a scooter or an ATV. Also: warm water Not Always running and breakfast not good at all.

Our bachelorette experience was beyond expectations. Decorations, tours, and reservations were all perfect.

As a first time solo traveler I could not be happier with my experiences at the Strabon hotel in Tulum during my trip in December 2025! Quaint, aesthetic and romantic hotel tucked away in a tranquil street. Amazing staff that were so attentive and accommodating throughout my stay- kind, knowledgeable, respectful and showing amazing hospitality - Florencio and Edgar are the best! I would recommend this location to couples and solo travelers alike. It’s an amazing place to stay while exploring the beauty of Tulum!

This is a lovely simple hotel that is a great value. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the location is fabulous, only a two block walk to the la voleta downtown strip. Management was very helpful and hospitable, and provided us with all we needed to know with regards to transportation and the best spots to visit. The lush Lanscaping, as you enter was a little bonus! Note: there is no elevator so if you struggle with stairs be warned. I have a bad knee and so it was a little slow on the stairs, but the concierge took care of my bags thankfully!

Great hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean rooms. Amazing courtyard and pool. It’s outside of downtown so it’s nice and quiet. You can rent bikes in the lobby or you can walk downtown (it’s about a 20 minute walk). It is a 5 minute walk to a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and clothing stores though. I would recommend staying here!

Rooms are spacious. The one I stayed in had a balcony. I would read here in the morning surrounded by plants. The hotel is close enough to centro tulum very walkable, 20-25 minutes. I enjoyed these leisurely walks and would myself at either don cafeto for some mole or el camello for some sopa. There’s a small strip in Veletta a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel lined with good spaces to shop and lively restaurants to eat. Beach is far and taxis are a hassle. If beach is your thing look elsewhere, but the hotel will gladly arrange day trips for you. The staff was wonderful and it was nice to get to know them.
